B2B Retailer Expands into Cbd Drinks

New drinks trading platform Spiritrade is expanding outside beer and spirits and moving into CBD drinks.

10/10/2019

Spiritrade, which was launched by 31Dover veteran Jimmy Metta in January this year, is now moving into wine, soft drinks, CBD infused drinks and energy drinks, due to “strong demand” from its members.

The company has recruited 200 members, which include brand owners, wholesalers, large supermarket groups and traders from 29 countries.

Spiritrade has also added a string of new features to its online trading platform, including a “fully integrated platform template for ease and efficiency in bulk trading”, and the ability to target specific global markets, which it claims is an “industry first.”

When the company launched earlier this year, Metta said he found the drinks industry “very antiquated and open to many inefficiencies. My mission at Spiritrade is to create a unique marketplace, where buyers and sellers can trade in an environment that is efficient and secure.”

Spiritrade vets all buyers and suppliers who sign up to the scheme, and uses an escrow server, which allows transactions to be carried out without risk of losing money or merchandise due to fraud, according to the company.

The company said the latest updates and “combination of technology and trading is proving Spiritrade to be an indispensable tool for the drinks industry.”
