Haleakala Distillers began distilling rum in 2003 using local molasses from the last remaining sugar mill in the islands. The distillery is a small family business that produces award-winning handcrafted authentic Hawai'ian spirits. The Maui Dark ® Rum brand was a 2010 nominee at the Golden Rum Barrel Awards in London. Having successfully placed its products at retail outlets and on-premises sites throughout the Hawai'ian Islands, it is a natural progression for the company to expand into the Washington state market.
