To celebrate the official launch of the first collaboration between Bowmore and Mizunara, the Island Shangri-La is offering limited-edition bottles throughout December.

The Bowmore Mizunara Cask Finish Islay single malt is Bowmore’s first foray into making a whisky finished in Japanese Mizunara oak where the oak is left to grow for up to 300 years before being handcrafted into casks. Similarly, it is Mizunara’s first venture into releasing its casks to a whisky outside of Japan.

Founded in 1779, Bowmore is the oldest distillery on Islay, one of the Scottish isles which make up the region known as the “Islands” and is famed for the whiskies’ smoky characteristics.

Throughout December, the Island Shangri-La is offering a four-course whisky pairing menu as well as a cheese-pairing feast.

For Bowmore enthusiasts, there is also a one-off whisky pairing dinner featuring some of the rarest vintages of Bowmore, in addition to the Bowmore Mizunara Cask Finish on 1 December.
