Founded in 1861, Freixenet has produced outstanding sparkling wines for over 100 years in the méthode champenoise tradition, known as método tradicional in Spain. Freixenet is one of the most renowned cava houses in Spain. Freixenet was founded in late 19th century with the marriage between two prominent Spanish winemaking families, Dolores Sala Vivé of Casa Sala and Pedro Ferrer Bosch of La Freixeneda. Now, over a century later, our small company has become the world's leading producer of top-quality sparkling wines without losing the family-based character, which is being continued by the founders' descendant, Jose Ferrer.
