Castello di Rubbia - Grad Rubije is a family run winery, the name is taken after the historical castle Rubbia - Rubije, today owned by our family. The winery situated in the village of Vrh, San Michele del Carso, on the border with Slovenija, cultivating indigenous varieties from CARSO KRAS land, VITOVSKA, TERAN, MALVASIA. Vnification with spontaneous fermentation, skin contact, not filtred, although elegant and with particular freshness due to good balanced acidity. The wines are introduced to the market after 5-6 years. Touristical offer with wine tasting and local food is an important part of the winery's business, as the cellar and the castle are located in the heart of Nature and History: you can visit natural caves and "dolina" valleys, vineyards with red soil, and historical monuments linked to Great War, Second and Cold war bunkers. Also, the winery cooperates with cultural associations, organizing important festivals and concerts, such as the most important music festival in the region, Udin&Jazz.
