CANTINE PAULI'S MONSERRATO

  • Category: Winery

  • Country: Italy

  • Date:26/03/2014

Founded on 6th July 1924, the Cantina Sociale di Monserrato (Cooperative Winery of Monserrato) was first the economic and later also the organisational structure of choice for seventy-nine winemakers. It was the first cooperative winery created in Sardinia and after 80 years it is still bound by the same principles adopted by its founder members, now enhanced by the modern wine technologies. The vineyards extend over 700 hectares and grow the most important Sardinian grape varieties, including: Cannonau, Vermentino, Monica, Nuragus, Moscato and Nasco. The morphology of this land, its closeness to the sea, the Mediterranean climate and the wild flora confer to our grapes their unique flavours. The winemaking cooperative has two main plants and four sales points. The main plant, where the cooperative has its headquarters and the bottling station, is located in the town of Monserrato but the actual processing of the grapes and fermentation takes place in Ussana.
