The year was 1846, when Gottfried Fassbind I. founded the old Urschwyzer distillery in Oberarth. More than 160 years ago, the descendant of Dutch coopers, who had immigrated to Switzerland in the 13th century, laid the foundation for what is today the oldest distillery in Switzerland.
