Wine and Olive Estate in the heart of Chianti Classico. Castello di San Donato in Perano Estate covers an area of approximately 370 hectares, in a region perfectly suitable for vineyards, between Gaiole and Radda in Chianti. The altitude of vines is between 300 and 500 meters above sea level. The vines are growed using spurred cordons and a density of 5,000 plants per hectar. The climate is usually dry in the summer and in September has a sharp and contrasting temperature range between day and night. The soil is characterized by a high stony content and steep scope (15 – 20 %), natural characteristics which increase the draining properties. Thanks to such favourable climatic and environmental conditions it is possible to produce high quality wines and excellent extra virgin DOP olive oil.
