Description
Red Blend 2018 - Red Blend is part of the grape variety range of Acaibo Estate. It is a masterful blend of 67% Merlot, 18% Caberner Franc and 15% Petite Sirah, sourced from Sonoma County's unique volcanic ash and clay soils. Our grapes are handpicked from our organic and regenerative vineyard and the wine is aged for 16 months in premium Bordeaux-style French oak barrels, with 15% of the barrels being new, sourced from the finest forests of central France.
"At first glance, the aromas of chocolate powder, cedar, and crushed walnuts are prominent. However, with additional aeration, sweet notes of blackberry and cassis emerge, accompanied by hints of savory dried wild brush. A refreshing undertone adds a cooling effect on the palate, while polished yet assertive tannins ensure lasting persistence." Nicolas Vonderheyden, technical director

About this company
Claire and Gonzague, owners of Bordeaux Grands Crus Classés, have been nurturing Acaibo since 2012. Nestled in the picturesque Chalk Hill region of Sonoma, our 10-hectare vineyard enjoys an ideal climate for cultivating exquisite Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. At Acaibo, we pride ourselves on the perfect balance and unique aromatic profile that reflect the essence of Californian terroir. Committed to sustainability, we employ organic and regenerative farming practices, ensuring that our land thrives for generations to come. The culmination of our dedication and innovative approach is a wine that stands proudly among the finest American cuvées. Our 2018 vintage earned an impressive 96/100 from renowned critic James Suckling, who praised its "very fine tannins and fresh, crisp, bright finish."
