Description
Fresh citrus and mineral flavour, a typical cool climate chardonnay that has light-bodied freshness with a delicate oak roundness. Sourced from our vineyard in the sub region of Ward Valley, southern Marlborough, blessed with deep clay loam soils and traces of limestone. After an excellent growing season the parcel of grapes for this wine were selected from the Ward Valley Estate Coastal Block. Harvested on the cool night of 29th March 2022, the grapes were taken to Spring Creek and transferred to small open top fermenters for vinification. After ferment was finished the wine was pressed to a mixture of new and seasoned French oak barriques to mature.

“A lovely complexity and richness begins the bouquet with scents of barrel spices and roasted stone fruits, there’s a distinctive lees spice and a wood-smoke quality then scents of citrus and roasted white fleshed tree fruits. Full-bodied on the palate with a satin-cream texture, fine tannins and plenty of acidity pulling all these elements together. Fruit flavours mirror the bouquet centering on peach and nectarine with citrus and saline highlights.
