Description
Sourced from our vineyard in the sub region of Ward Valley, southern Marlborough, blessed with deep clay loam soils and traces of limestone. After an excellent growing season, the parcel of grapes for this wine were selected from the Ward Valley Estate Mt Victoria Block.
Harvested on the cool night of April 6th 2022, the grapes were taken to Spring Creek and transferred to small open top fermenters for vinification. After ferment was finished, the wine was pressed to a mixture of new and seasoned French oak barriques to mature.
Gorgeously styled and seductively complex, showing ripe cherry, thyme, smoked game, almond and earthy mushroom characters, leading to a beautifully rounded palate offering excellent weight and soothing mouthfeel. Splendidly framed by silky texture and polished tannins, finishing long and satisfying.
