Description
Production area: Vigna degli Angeli, on the slopes of Monte Conero in Rosso Conero DOC area.
Grape variety: Montepulciano 100%
Vineyard: Multiclonal plant of 4650 plants per hectare, bred with pruned-spur cordon-trained system over a calcareous-clay soil, typical of Monte Conero at 350 m above sea level, exposed to south and about 2000 m from the sea.
Climate: A rather warm winter with few rains. A warm spring without ever reaching 0°, with incessant, but non intensive rains. The plants had then plenty of water and humid heat during the flowering with a consequent difficult to check the diseases. During the summer it rained for long periods, in fact in July there were only two sunny days and in August only three.
During the harvest it rained again and to have healthy grapes it needed to thin the unhealthy ones and for this rason the yield was very low: only 39 quintals pro hectare, but from healthy grapes. The harvest was always hand made and it took place in forwarded October, with a low sugar content and a consequent alcohol level a little higher than 13°. Because of this climate we have decided to not produce the Riserva Rossini this year.
Winemaking: Grapes were hand and mechanical harvested. They are pressed and destemmed, then they fermented for few days with continuous pumping over to extract from the peels anthocyanins and tannins to give the wine its color and taste without risking to extract unwanted substances; then the wine is racked in vitrified cement tanks where in December the malolactic fermentation took place, after it’s the moment of the maturation of the wine until the bottling. For at least other 5 months the wine rests in the bottle in suitable places before being sold.

Lazio is really becoming a cult area for producing wine. Rome has even one of the eleven trappist beer in the world, Birra Tre Fontane, i would really like you to taste this beer!! I also represent two incredible farms from Tuscany: Padelletti 1571, one of the most ancient Brunello producers, easely considered among the best 5 in Montalcino, and Quercia Grossa, natual wine farmer who produce amazing wines with with about 0,1 of sulphur. Very close to Tuscany, on the opposite side of central Italy there are Marche, where PiantateLunghe produces an outstanding Rosso Conero Riserva. Moving to the south of Italy i represent a very good winery from Sicily, Barone Sergio, precisely from Pachino, inside the Eloro DOC, the traditional area of Nero d\'Avola, but they are also able to produce a structured and fragant Grillo, and an unbelivable Passito. In Calabria, just a little bit further north, i propose Cantine Viola and their delicious Moscato di Saracena; they also produce beer, the name of the brewery is DeAlchemia, distinguishable thanks to their packaging. The last farmer i wonna talk about is Casalu wine, a fresh and performing Amarone producer, from Verona, in the traditional area of Valpolicella.
