The UNDERGROUND WINE PROJECT is a collaboration between Washington wine makers Mark McNeilly (Mark Ryan Winery) and Trey Busch (Sleight of Hand Cellars). Mark and Trey are close friends of nearly 15 years and have both launched successful wineries in their respective parts of Washington State. In 2009, the pair released their first collaboration wine, Idle Hands. With only 100 cases produced, Idle Hands quickly became a cult favorite. The successful launch was the impetus for what would soon become the UNDERGROUND WINE PROJECT which truly skyrocketed with the launch of "And Why Am I Mr. Pink" Rose which in successive vintages was named The Top 100 Best Buy on the planet from the Wine Enthusiast with the 2017 vintage followed up by Seattle Magazine naming the 2018 vintage as the best Rose produced in Washington. In addition to the Idle Hands Red Mountain Red Blend and Mr. Pink, the winery produces the Devil's Playground Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon.
