Bodegas Sonsierra has always been a pioneer in Rioja’s winemaking industry, as we have shown throughout our history. Our winery was founded on January 3, 1961 and inaugurated on May 15, 1962, years in which wine production became the economic engine of La Rioja.

We have always striven to push boundaries and to innovate: a fine example is the project we embarked on with the designer David Delfín, which has revolutionised the sector. This creative, risk-taking spirit is one of the identifying qualities that defines the essence and philosophy of our brand. In order to innovate and to overcome convention, we at Sonsierra have developed the capacity to look beyond the horizon and awaken our imaginations. In line with this philosophy, at Bodegas Sonsierra we strive to take the greatest care over our winemaking and our products are only made using grapes grown on our own vines, which we ourselves planted, pruned and harvested. The attention we pay to our vines is not merely limited to generating a good harvest: rather, we tend them in accordance with the fundamental objective of creating a certain type of wine. Our efforts in the fields are maintained inside our winemaking facilities, where everything is governed by attention to detail and selection of the best raw materials. We are at the forefront of a genuine revolution in winemaking, and our unmatched commitment to quality as a collective has positioned us as one the most visionary winemakers in the Rioja region.
