Jakkalsvlei, directly translated as Jackal's Marsh, is a family owned winery nestled in the beautiful, world famous Garden Route. The Jonker family has been proud owners of Jakkalsvlei since 1972, and today it is farmed by the 3rd generation Jonkers on the farm.

The farmland was called Jakkalsvlei because of all the foxes, jackal's and wild cats seen in the mountains surrounding the farmland. While hunting in the Southern Cape during this time, Nelis Jonker senior was inspired to buy this beautiful piece of land. Jantjie Jonker, Nelis's grandson settled on the farm in 2006. In 2008 he bottled the first wine under the Jakkalsvlei label.

Today Jakkalsvlei wines are enjoyed by people all over the Garden Route, including some fine restaurants. You can't help but fall in love with the breathtaking views and the beautiful mountain range surrounding the farm.

Jakkalsvlei is a 50ha family owned winery, situated 40km inland from the Indian Ocean in the Garden Route of South Africa. Our climate is warm and dry during the summer, with the ocean cooling it down during the night, and with different soil types of clay, shale and sandstone, it is ideal for making quality wines.

At Jakkalsvlei we have 12 different cultivars, mostly used for bottling. Our Jakkalsvlei range is focused on high quality fruit driven wines and also produces a premium exclusive range called Lord Jackal in limited quantities.

The Jakkalsvlei range includes eleven different wines from a fresh and zesty Sauvignon Blanc, a fruity River Cuvée white blend, a tropical Chenin Blanc, a dry Pinotage Rosé, a natural-sweet La Perlé Rosé, a soft and elegant Mount Cuvée blend, a coffee driven Pinotage, a complex Merlot and a full bodied Cabernet Sauvignon. The range also features two sweet wines. A rich and creamy Hanepoot and juicy syrupy Red Muscadel. The wines are full of character and reflects the true ambiance of the Jakkalsvlei Farm.
