In order to present our winery we've got to start from the people that represent it, My name is Marco and together with my mother Francesca I run small winery here in the Colline Novaresi area. Our Family, The Castaldi family, have lived on these hills since 1700, since then, our history has always been blended with the vineyards that so naturally find a great habitat in this Region. In 1996, When Francesca took over on the vineyards management, new implants where made, which allowed her to modernize the exisiting vineyards to the newest farming methods, improving the vineyard management operations, as well as enabling her to create monovarietal vineyards, which is a central concept to the philosophy of production behind our wines. Together with trying to demonstrate the incredibile versatility and class of the Nebbiolo, king of all the Piedmontese grapes, the recovery and valorisation of our native varieties is what we're really trying to achieve throughout our vinifications, giving to each of them specific care, so that we can obtain wines that carry within them the uniqueness of the grapes they're coming from. Our total annual production is around 25'000 bottles, the total surface of our vineyards is 6.5 Ha, althouhgt part of our grapes are still sold as our cellar is not yet able to process them all, each vintage contributes to purchasing new equipment and tanks for our winery, as part of a controlled growth process. Our production is divided into 8 different wines, 4 of them all made from Nebbiolo grapes, while the others are coming from autochthonous varieties of our hills, such as Vespolina, Uva Rara and Erbaluce. closing the list there's a small production of Barbera as well.
