Blackgate Estate Started in 2010 and has been producing wine from family vineyards throughout the Yenda region. With over 15 varieties grown across our estate ranging from Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Ruby Cabernet, Semillon and Durif.

Blackgate Estate is a three generation family owned operation of vineyards, producing wine grapes since 1970’s. It is located in the Riverina region of New South Wales, Australia, near the township of Yenda. This grape growing region is renowned globally for its family run wineries and award winning wine since the early 1900’s. Blackgate Estate has supplied fruit to local wineries for more than 40 years.

Today we have the same drive and passion to continue what we do best but we have bottled a few special varieties to go under our own label as well. We hope you enjoy our wines as much as we enjoyed producing them for you. Yesterday, today and tomorrow we continue our family dream of sharing our wine with the world.

George Nehme had farming in his blood and soul when he emigrated from Lebanon. It was by chance that he picked up some grape picking work in Yenda. He instinctively knew he had found the place to put down his roots. Together with his wife Samira they planted the first vines on their Yenda farm in 1975. With 4 children they worked to make it into this beautiful motherland. It was their love, dedication, sacrifice and hard work which built the foundations of Blackgate Estate.
