Description
Pinotage Grapes were harvested in the early morning and transferred directly to stainless steel fermentation tanks. The juice fermented on the skins for about 7 days with regular pump overs to extract tannins, colour and fruit. After 7 days the wine was separated from the skins and transferred to stainless steel tank to undergo malolactic fermentation. The wine was racked from the lees and transferred to older barrels and tank with staves for 6-9 months of maturation. Wine was then stabilised, filtered and ready for bottling.
Deep red in colour. It fills your nose with ripe, red berries. Mocha, hints of vanilla and spice add to a full mouth-feel. Medium-bodied, plums on lingering finish. Enjoy with lasagne, hearty casseroles, roasts, cheddar and green figs or chocolate dessert. Serve at 16°C.
