Description
The Wine: The estate’s vintage selection is a contemporary classic - the worthiest of all chosen harvests from Monterinaldi’s carapace. It is both field blend and a cellar cuvée into a worth greater than the sum of Monterinaldi’s single vineyards. The field blend is generously proportioned: heritage clones and classic varietals finely balanced: unity in variety, terroir representation - no expressionism. The Annata usually starts life in a secretive way before conceding herself.
Tasting notes: Intense ruby red color. By the nose this wine shows a wide range of fresh sensations of cherry, blackberry and violet. By the palate it reveals a dry sensation perfectly balanced to the silky tannins and the fruity taste.
Food pairings: parmesan cheese, ham, roast meet and chicken.

About this company
Castello Monterinaldi is an estate of fifty hectares under organic management, mainly Sangiovese, in Radda in Chianti, heart of Chianti Classico DOCG area. Founded in the 60s and owned by the same family, since 2012 has begun an important zoning project which has led to the division of the company into 17 micro zones that are vinified separately. The winery logo is the Turtle because it symbolizes constant progress, tenacity and long life, so much so that the commercial claim is "slow and steady". Main production is Chianti Classico DOCG, Riserva DOCG and the Cru “Vigneto Boscone”, together with a 100% Sangiovese Spumante Brut and the surprising “The Purple Turtle” Toscana IGT.
