Description
AOC Banyuls. Fortified sweet wine.
Grape varieties: 90% Grenache noir and 10% Carignan.
Hand-picked grapes.
De-stemming and light crush of the grapes. Vinification in concrete tank. Four days fermentation stopped by addition of alcohol while still in maceration with skins (“mutage sur grains”). After 20 days of maceration all in all and 7 months of aging in tank, this wine is bottled early to preserve its fruity flavors and freshness.
Blackberry and blackcurrant aromas. Rich and smooth texture.
Slow evolution in bottle, long keeping.

About this company
Domaine de La Rectorie is a family-run winery located in Banyuls-sur-Mer, where the Pyrenees meet the Mediterranean. Old vines on schist soils. Vineyards in terraces overhanging the sea. Everything in the vineyard is done by hand. A diversity of plots, altitudes and orientations, allow to elaborate large range of wines going from the dry Collioure -white, rosé and red- to the fortified sweet Banyuls. La Rectorie is run by Thierry Parcé and his son Jean-Emmanuel.
