Our Dirty Little Tequila Secret The Mexican government likes to keep things simple when it comes to their Tequilas. Mexican laws allow for only two classifications, either “Mixto” or “100% Agave." Just about all the Mixto tequilas produced are 51% Agave, except for one, Don Alejandro which is 75% Agave. Having nowhere else to go, Don Alejandro was thrown into the Mixto” category with all the rest. The government won't even allow us to put 75% Agave on the label to tell everyone how good it is. So, Don Alejandro gets to be the red-headed stepchild of the Tequila world. That said, we like to call Don Alejandro “Mixto Plus” because it makes a superior “house” Margarita or cocktail. We think it is better than any other pour tequila we have tasted. Don Alejandro comes in both Silver and Gold varieties. It is packaged in 750 ML glass, 1 litre glass, and 1.75 litre PET plastic bottles. On-premise accounts love the reduced weight of the plastic bottles! We offer both FOB and DI pricing.
