Once feared by authorities and furtively sought by libertines, absinthe is suddenly respectable – although no less alluring. Ours is especially so. Based on a recipe from the 1700s, Green Siren takes time to craft because we don’t take shortcuts. We skip the artificial color and sugar syrup and instead soak twice with herbs that thrive in Haines’ climate: wormwood, lemon balm, and anise hyssop. Lightly licorice in flavor, Green Siren can be enjoyed in the classic absinthe ritual, in creative cocktails, or on the rocks. It won’t make you hallucinate, but it might nicely adjust your attitude.

About this company
Port Chilkoot Distillery was the first craft distillery in Southeast Alaska. Back in 2013, locals Sean Copeland and Heather Shade founded the distillery and still own and operate it today. Visitors from around the world travelling through Southeast Alaska find our distillery nestled in the historical town of Haines. This place is like nowhere else, and our labels reflect the coastal culture of the misty Southeast Alaskan fishing towns where the ocean meets the mountains… the very thing that we bottle up. Handmade craftsmanship is our passion, and that means all our products are made onsite in small batches. The distillery was also renovated and built by Sean himself, so everything from the roof over the stills to the product we pour into our bottles exemplifies our passion for excellence and the distinct character that is Southeast Alaska. Our products reflect who we are… small town Alaskans infusing our products with a do-it-yourself attitude.
