Beelgara Story
The Beelgara Winery has a history that dates back over 80 years; Italian immigrants originally built it in 1930. The winery is near the village of Beelbangera, which is in the Riverina and one Australia’s largest grape growing regions.
The name Beelgara is taken from the original name “Beelgara Vineyards” which is the proud and historical name for the vineyard sites that surround the winery even today.
The Beelgara Brand is recognisable by the circle logo first used in 2007.
Beelgara is now one of Australia’s top twenty largest wineries, with a complete range of wines from New South Wales, South Australia and Victoria. Beelgara Estate bottles all of its own wine to guarantee freshness, quality and consistency.
Rod Hooper – Chief Winemaker
Rod Hooper is an accomplished winemaker with over 30 vintages to his name. A graduate of Roseworthy Agricultural College with a Bachelor of Oenology, Rod gained international winemaking experience with vintages in California, France and Germany.
Rod has worked as winemaker for Penfold’s, Hardy’s, Goundrey and Leasingham. He was involved in the establishment of the Queensland wine industry in the mid 80s, and has also spent time judging several regional, state and national wine shows over the years. Rod spent several years making wine at Charles Sturt University, where he taught wine making and viticulture.
Rod has spent the last decade realising his passion making preservative free and organic wines for his Macaw Creek brand. At last count he has won 30 trophies, including 51 gold, and more than 300 other medals.

Macaw Creek – Em’s Table 2009 Shiraz
A rich and complete Shiraz made without the use of sulphites or other preservatives. Rich blackberry and plum fruit aromas are blended with vanillin oak.
Rosetto’s Aged Tawny NV – Limited Release
This traditional Australian Tawny, fortified with the finest brandy, shows flavours of rich chocolate fruit, a touch of oak from barrel ageing and a soft lingering finish.
Bombora Coconut
A modern invigorating drink. Our tropical blend of exotic coconut rum flavours aromas are combined artistically with premium fortified wine base, results in this smooth elegant Australian cocktail mixer.
Shamrock Cream
Capture the flavour of Ireland, a creamy blend of vanilla and chocolate flavours. Shamrock Cream is wonderful served over ice or as a premium ingredient in an Irish Coffee.
Estate Range 2012 Cabernet Merlot
A generous medium bodied red with a bouquet of dark cherries and blackcurrant fruit aromas. The palate has dark cherry flavours with soft tannins, and well integrated oak.
Estate Range 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon
A generous medium bodied red with a bouquet of blackcurrant fruit aromas. The palate has dark currant fruit and vanillan oak flavours with fine tannins, and well integrated oak.
Estate Range 2012 Shiraz
A generous medium bodied red with a bouquet of dark plums, cracked pepper, and cedary French oak. Rich full palate with plenty of ripe sweet fruit and soft tannins, and well integrated oak.

Estate Range 2012 Merlot
A generous medium bodied red, with a bouquet of plum and sweet French oak aromas. The palate has blackcurrant and juicy plum flavours with soft tannins, and well-integrated oak.
Estate Range 2013 Rosé
A fresh sweet Rosé style, bright pink in colour, displaying fresh raspberry and cherry aromas. With excellent depth of flavour and an abundance of fruit the perfect summer wine. Drink chilled.
