Select Aperitivo Unveils Bottle Redesign at Tales of the Cocktail, Revives the Brand's Classic 1920s Packaging
New, Premium Look Showcases the Craftsmanship of Venice and Essential Role in The Original Venetian Spritz
Select Aperitivo unveiled new packaging, with a redesigned bottle and label that embraces its original Art Deco style and celebrates the brand's rich heritage of nearly a century. Since its founding in 1920, Select Aperitivo has been the essential ingredient for making the Original Venetian Spritz, capturing the magical spirit and lifestyle of Venice through a perfect balance of bitter and sweet. The new packaging was introduced during Tales of the Cocktail 2018, the world's premier cocktail festival in New Orleans.
The new Select Aperitivo bottle design brings key elements of the nearly century-old brand's history into focus: 1920, the year the spirit was founded, and Venice, the city where Select Aperitivo became the aperitif of choice in most fashionable cafes and clubs along the Canal Grande. Furthermore, the decorative curved shape of the bottle was inspired by the famous hand-blown glass artistry of Murano, a small island off of Venice where Select Aperitivo was later produced.
The Select Aperitivo label has been enhanced with a new logo to tell the story of its origin at the renowned Pilla Distilleries in the Castello district of Venice, the historical heart of the city. The label notes that Select Aperitivo is made by carefully blending 30 botanicals, including juniper berries, for their balsamic and floral characteristics, with rhubarb root, which provides intensely bitter notes for balance. The new back label details how the aromatic profile and balanced bittersweet taste make Select Aperitivo an irreplaceable ingredient in an Original Venetian Spritz – made with three parts prosecco, two parts Select Aperitivo, and one part seltzer, served with lots of ice and garnished with a skewered green olive.
"As an essential ingredient in the Original Venetian Spritz, Select Aperitivo is being embraced by a new generation of cocktail enthusiasts," said Rob Cullins, Regional Director of the Americas, Gruppo Montenegro. "We are reviving our classic packaging to celebrate the rich legacy of our brand while incorporating new, modern elements to set the stage for the future of Select Aperitivo."
Select Aperitivo contains 17.5 percent alcohol (35° proof) and can be enjoyed at restaurants, bars, hotels, and other food and drink establishments nationwide for a suggested retail price of $33.00 USD per 1L bottle.

About Select Aperitivo
Select Aperitivo is the classic Venetian aperitif and was created in 1920 in the Castello district at Pilla Distilleries, a place renowned for the art of liquor making. During the postwar period, the young Pilla Brothers contributed to the rebirth of the city and when the popularity of the aperitif began to spread, the Spritz soon became a favorite, establishing Select Aperitivo as the star of the Venetian cocktail scene. A precise selection of 30 botanicals undergoes a complex process to achieve the distinctive, well-balanced bittersweet taste of Select Aperitivo. With its sophisticated aromatic profile, Select Aperitivo is the essential ingredient for making the Original Venetian Spritz which is always garnished with a green olive.
