Familia Vicente Pearce (FVP Wines) is a small production, family run winery making single vineyard wines (and single parcel, single row wines!) from our Azcuénaga Vineyard in Lunlunta, Mendoza. It is run by Juan Pablo Vicente in Mendoza, Argentina and Shawn Pearce (holds a UC Davis Winemaking Certification) based in Buffalo, NY.
This 2021 Cabernet Franc spent 12 months in French oak (225 and 500 liter barrels, 15% new). 230 cases made.
TASTING NOTES: CAB FRANC 2021
Color: Bright deep ruby.
Aroma: Rich ripe raspberry, cherry with secondary aromas of smoked chipotle and eucalyptus.
Palate: Very well balanced with medium tannins and medium acidity. Strawberry and cherry fruit are showing with oak inspired vanilla undertone.
Finish: Clean with lingering red berry fruit..
WINEMAKING
Hand sorted, destemmed, 4 day cold maceration, alcoholic fermentation in cement, peak fermentation temperature managed, daily pumpover, native malolactic fermentation in barrel, racked every 6 months, unfined/unclarified and not acidified. Minimum free SO2 for stability: 29 ppm at bottling. (pH 3.67, TA 5.63 g/l, RS 2.4 g/l).

About this company
Familia Vicente Pearce (FVP) grows wine grapes in Mendoza, Argentina and makes single vineyard red and rosé wines sourced from our Azcuenaga Vineyard planted in 1990. Our team lives in both Mendoza and the USA. The Vicente and Pearce families came together when a girl from Mendoza, Argentina met a guy from Buffalo, NY. We bought the Azcuenaga Vineyard together in 2011. Our focus is on high quality single-vineyard red and rose wines that we love to drink and that reflect their origin here in Lunlunta. We specialize in Malbec, Cabernet Franc, and our Bordeaux-inspired Corte, a single vineyard red blend. Our reds spend at least 12 months in oak (225 and 500L barrels), they undergo cold maceration and temperature controlled fermentation, are unfined, and have only the minimal free sulfites for stability (~30ppm). We are a small family owned and operated business expecting to bottle 1,000 cases in 2022. FVP Wines are imported to the USA by PEVI WINE IMPORTER, LLC in Buffalo, NY.
