Alpasion started some 20 years ago as a group of friends and investors decided to go into business together. They found an entirely new piece of propoerty. They cultivated and pampered the land and vines  it until you have what we see here; quite possibly one of the worlds finest lines of artisan, Argentiniam wine making. From the purest terroir expression of the unoaked Malbecd throught the 100% petite verdot and finishing with what has been a consistent gold medat winner at the Taste of texas Houston livestock and rodeo wine event the Private selection malbec.This is still our top wine, aged for at least 18 months in French Bordeaux style barrels. It is a blend that changes every year depending on the best grapes available. It is a powerful, full-bodied wine, with complex aromas and sweet flavors of ripe plums and blackberries. The 2013 blend (which is what we currently have available) is: 80% Malbec, 15% Syrah, and 5% Petit Verdot. 

 Alpasion is one of the highest altitude{ bono just bought the winery next door} wineries in the entire Uco valley. By looking at the map you can see that Alpasion lies at the base of the Andes and is the recipient of irrigation coming from melted ice as it comes down the moubtain. At this altitude the soil is rocky, slate, granite. and limestone. It is that minerality provides a bright robustness and balance without being too mouth dehydrating on the finish. All alpasion excliding the are New french oak aged and taste way beyond thier price points
