About this company
Considered a top Destination Vineyard in the Applegate Valley, Schmidt Family Vineyards is a family of three generations growing grapes & producing wine. . While Cal remains the patriarch and winemaker, his daughter Rene, Winemaker & certified Sommelier, along with her son Duncan make up the 3 generation winemaking team. Other Family have roles in accounting, marketing, food service & events. Even the 4th generation can be seen playing on the grounds or fishing in the pond. The 75-acre estate has 40 acres currently planted with plans for additional 20 acres. 4 Acres are landscaped for guest use with 125 roses & flower garden, a large vegetable garden used for the winery kitchen. There are also 2 large greenhouses. 1 featuring ornamental plants and 1 that grows herbs and vegetables for our unique pizza oven which was built by Cal and Cal’s grandsons. The unique pizza oven can be seen operated by Grandson Spencer, Master of making the perfect pizza, baguette or loaf of sourdough for our menu choices.
