Real de a 8 is a premium line of wines that captures the essence and tradition of Rioja Alta, offering an authentic taste of the region in every bottle. Produced by Bodegas Don Sancho de Londoño, a family-owned winery with over three generations of experience in viticulture, these wines are crafted with meticulous care, reflecting the legacy of the iconic “Real de a 8” coin — a symbol of quality, trust, and excellence.

Our grapes are grown in high-altitude vineyards (600–800 meters), where the unique microclimate ensures freshness, elegance, and balance. The combination of meticulous vineyard management and traditional winemaking techniques produces wines that honor the heritage of Rioja while appealing to modern palates.

The Real de a 8 range includes:

Red (100 % Tempranillo): A classic Rioja red with vibrant fruit flavors and subtle spices. Smooth finish; perfect for both casual and refined settings.
White (100 % Viura): Crisp and refreshing, with bright citrus and pear notes and subtle floral hints. Minor blends with Tempranillo Blanco, Garnacha Blanca, or Sauvignon are allowed under DOCa Rioja regulations. Ideal for seafood or salads.
Rosé (Garnacha & Tempranillo): A vibrant rosé with complex cherry aromas and wild strawberries, soft tannins, and a spicy finish. Perfect for warm days and light meals.
Crianza (Tempranillo & Garnacha): Aged to perfection, offering smoky cherry and vanilla flavors, with a rich and smooth tannic structure.
Reserva (Tempranillo & Garnacha): Aged for 24+ months, with a surprisingly fresh palate, vibrant fruit, balanced acidity, and refined oak notes.

Bodegas Don Sancho de Londoño is a family-owned winery located in the heart of Rioja Alta, where three generations have been dedicated to viticulture and farming. Our story began in 2004, when founders José Ramón and Raquel transformed their vineyards — cultivated with the same care as their family’s fields of legumes and vegetables — into the foundation of their lifelong dream: producing wines that capture the soul of the Najerilla Valley. We farm 40 hectares of high-altitude vineyards (600–800 m) and controlling around 120 ha in total, primarily planted with Tempranillo, Garnacha, and Viura. This privileged location provides freshness, balance, and authenticity to our wines. From day one, our philosophy has been to combine respect for tradition with an openness to modern market needs: real wines, honestly made, always with a strong price-quality ratio. Our portfolio includes both DOCa Rioja wines (under the brand Real de a 8 — red, white, rosé, Crianza, Reserva, and Gran Reserva) as well as everyday wines in bottle and Bag-in-Box (Viña Furieles and 80/20), designed for international distribution, horeca, and private label projects. For over 20 years, we have maintained a long-term partnership with one of the largest U.S. importers, crafting both our own labels and private label wines. This collaboration has earned multiple wines 90+ ratings from Parker, Wine Enthusiast, and Wine Spectator, demonstrating consistency, reliability, and excellence in quality. We also develop customized wines and formats, always maintaining a clean, modern presentation and dependable service.
