Description

Wine from the village, which is born in 24 different selected ´Majuelos´ (very small traditional plots) in Tubilla del Lago, each plot between 77 and 104 years old. A mixture of soils ranging from deep sands to stone soils at over 900m altitude. This wine is a real tribute from Bodegas marta maté to the village of Tubilla del Lago. We are transforming its landscape into wine and treasuring it in a bottle. A distinct Ribera del Duero.

-       88% Tempranillo (Tinto Fino), 12% other varieties
-       12 months aging in 90% French oak and 10% American oak barrels
-       Serving temperature: 15-17°C
-       Ideally paired with vegetarian dishes, pasta, rice, fatty fish such as tuna or salmon and grilled meats. In addition good paired with the typical Spanish dish´escabechados´ and cheese appetizers.

Tasting notes:
Ruby red. Clean with medium intensity. Violet rim. Mineral aromas with nuances of toasted wood. Red fruit and floral aromas. We get spicy notes from the French oak and hints of vanilla from the American oak.
The first sip has a hint of sweet tannins from the wood. There is a balanced acidity, which reduces the sense of high alcohol in the mouth, although this wine is over 13% volume. The flavors in the mouth are slightly different than the aromas. On the nose we had definite wood notes which become red fruit flavors in the mouth. With a medium to long finish the wine goes down very easy.
