Tasting note
The wine has a dark ruby color, which shades into purple tinges. The smell is very specific combining pleasant tones of forest fruits. After decanting it fully releases its whole spectrum of aromas namely black plums as well as the smell of blackcurrant, cherry and cinnamon. The wine is very smooth light and full of flavor with elegant and balanced tannins. The taste is light and extractive which brings you a very complex tasting experience.

Terroir
——————————————
Soil conditions are determined by the geological predominantly volcanic substrate (andesites). The top layer of soil consists mainly of loam and clay (medium-heavy soils). Localized occurrence of brown coal deposit increased heat flow in this area. Topography is broken, mountainous, dominated by forest vegetation. The climate is characterized by mild temperatures and relatively low annual rainfall.

About this company
This is what being a winemaker really means. Since early childhood I’ve been around wine. One of my earliest memories I remember is my grandpa’s house . My grandparents lived in a countryside in a small village in the middle of a Trnava wine region. The house was huge better to say there's been a couple houses at the property. I still hear that crippling of the doors on the front porch when I get in entering. They even had a barn filled with animals rabbits and chicken and right behind the barn those endless vineyards climbing up to the hill. The life in the village was very simple, not a lot of fun around - just hard work in vineyards and a church and if you got lucky one day you would go to the church twice. Thats the life in a family of the winemaker. Years went by and a small boy grows older and by the time all of those ties with the family has been lost. But the wine is like a stigma it stays with you pure and strong. Raging force so powerful like the nature where it comes from. I almost forgot where I come from. I got back to my roots back to the wine and I realize that to being a winemaker is fulfilling somebody else’s dream following the family tradition. I’ve been always inspired by history culture and hard work, dedication which goes to the creation of the each wine that we make. Each sip you take, the smell, the taste represents the generations of my family and now its my time, my turn, to start my own path an living my dream. The wine which represents me, my family, my values and my ideas. My name is Peter Lisicky. Welcome to Lisicky Winery.
