ASSEMBLAGE 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc PROPERTY Chateau la Croix Fourney has been family owned for 30 years and is run by Romain Sauterel. With help from his cellarmaster, Francis Lopez, and the consulting oenologist, Pascal Poussevin, this small 9 hectare estate is able to create some of the finest Grand Cru wines in Saint Emilion. SOIL & WINEMAKING Superficy: 9ha Soil: Clay and limestone Average age of the vines: 35 years Winemaking: Traditional Ageing: more than 18 months in barrels TASTING NOTES This Grand Cru Saint Emilion has a plummy bouquet of cherry, blueberry and violets. Smooth on the palate with notes of black cherries, plums and blackcurrants, well-integrated oak gives notes of sweet spice such as cinnamon and vanilla with toasty aromas of coffee in the mid-palate.
