Description
Vincent Galineau, estate manager and winemaker at Chateau d Anvichar has crafted an exquisite cuvée from his single vineyard, from Castillon estate.
The site shares the same terroir as the famed Saint Emilion by being up on the same limestone ridge. This, coupled with the similar climate and Vincent Galineau’s meticulous attention to detail, means that Castillon, and Chateau d Anvichar in particular, produces wines on a par to its lofty neighbour. The estate is tended by Vincent and his three sons: Antoine, Victor and Charles (AnViChar). The Merlot vineyard, sits on red clay soil with limestone underneath. A small batch, hands-on labour of love, of only 800- 900cs depending on the vintage, Vincent employs temperature-controlled stainless steel vats for ferment and the finest French oak - a combination of new and seasoned - for aging the wine.
