The Baron Z Story In 2007, after more than 20 years in the Restaurant and Bar business, Mr. Baron Zettechelme decided to use his experience and knowledge to create a range of premium alcoholic beverages. Since his favorite drink was Gin & Tonic the choice was easy. So a Gin and of course a Vodka to later be followed by a white and a dark Rum was the plan. He contacted Master Blender Henrik Facile and presented the idea of a range of products with a timeless elegant design and a premium taste. He wanted the best grain spirit, all natural flavors and all this for a reasonable price, affordable luxury. His directions was simple, the Vodka should be smooth and elegant to enjoy straight up or as a good partner in a cocktail. The Gin should have the spirit of the classics but with no bitterness or oiliness and with a dry clean finish. Also to be enjoyed straight over ice with an orange twist or in an elegant cocktail. The design should be timeless but still modern. Smooth, all natural, classic and cocktails, was the things that Henrik needed to combine into the finished products. The design idea came from the classic cocktail shaker from the 1920’s well balanced to work with and with an elegant timeless look. The brand idée, Baron Z, came natural and the Z became the key to the future marketing campaigns. For the Vodka only the best Swedish grain spirit made from wheat was selected. Distilled into perfect purity and blended with natural spring water to create a smooth Vodka with hints of minerals. The selection of different distills created an exciting complexity with slight top notes of wheat on the nose. This Vodka makes elegant, sophisticated cocktails or, enjoyed straight up, a refreshing pre-diner drink that prepares the pallet for more… The Gin, a symphony of flavours, was created to attract the classic and modern consumer. A blend of Highland Juniper from Austria, smooth and aromatic, Coriander leaf (not seed) from Siberia, Cardamom from India, that balances all the other ingredients, Lemons and Bergamot from Sicily with its freshness, Bitter Orange and Lime from the West Indies. This together gave this Gin a clear Juniper nose with soft notes of Cardamom and Coriander and the taste, freshness from the citrus gives this gin a dry, not oily, and long pleasant aftertaste. The first step of the development of Baron Z Premium range of spirit was done. The Swedish market was the fist to enjoy these two premium products. The launch in December 2008 and the reactions from the consumers gave the Baron Z team the confirmation they needed. The consumers liked the products and wanted more….. Today Baron Z Premium Vodka & Gin is available in the Swedish Monopoly retails stores and in many restaurants around the country. In late 2009 the team started the next face in Baron Z history, reaching out to new markets and beyond. During 2010 two new products will be added to the range, White and Dark Rum. The 1 liter bottle will be introduced and many new markets will have the pleasure to enjoy Baron Z Premium Spirits
