Liqueurs made with precious cinchona calisaya bark have been a staple of liquor cabinets in Italy for centuries and were prized ingredients in a series of distinctive pre-Prohibition cocktails in the United States. Calisaya® celebrates this storied past in a subtle bittersweet liqueur derived from authentic cinchona bark, enhanced with selected botanicals and flowers. Calisaya® is hand-made in small batches from a traditional Italian recipe of all natural ingredients. Color: Translucent copper. Aroma: Notes of fresh spices, effervescent citrus and bitter orange gently subside to scents of warm woods, earth, forest floor and sap laced in light caramel. Taste: Smooth and clean feel. Immediate notes of incense, light toffee and leather, with a pleasantly astringent and delicately lingering quinine and orange zest bitterness.
