A cannabis absinthe that’s full of complexity. Canasinth reveals a remarkable palette of aromas and a gently sweet finish that is certain to impress. This absinthe liqueur is lightly and attractively scented with Swiss hemp flowers and has a particularly distinctive gentle aroma. It is made using only the finest hand-picked herbs that give this cannabis absinthe its unique taste. Hemp is one of the oldest cultivated plants in the world. As long ago as 10,000 BC, hemp was successfully grown on a large scale in China. Due to the extremely healthy composition of foodstuffs made from hemp, it was used by the Chinese as a remedy from the very outset. Around 2737 BC, the Chinese emperor Shen Nung described hemp as a remedy in his treatise on pharmacology, and by around 400 AD during the Roman empire, hemp was used in all areas of life as a remedy. In her records and accounts, naturalist and doctor Hildegard von Bingen (1098-1179) established a link to absinthe. She ascertained that hemp had extremely beneficial effects on the stomach, which together with the effects of the absinthe created a powerful combination. Using this background knowledge and based on our own conviction, we worked with the internationally renowned distillers in the Val-de-Travers, the birthplace of absinthe, to create this extraordinary cannabis absinthe. We followed traditional methods, and of course made everything by hand. This is a typical small-batch production. Artist and painter Marc Hayoz from Solothurn designed the label to give Canasinth such a beautiful look.
