Spirit wins Long Road Distillery of the Year title in Berlin

It's the latest in a string of awards the Grand Rapids company has claimed in the Aquavit category, which is a flavored gin-like spirit typically produced in Scandinavia that uses caraway or dill instead of juniper.
Long Road's Old Aquavit was the official recipient of the award. More than 400 spirits from 20 countries were entered in the competition which awarded spirits in everything from whiskey and rum to tequila and vodka.
The spirit has already received a slew of awards in 2017. It was named Best of Show by the American Craft Spirits Association and Best of Class and Best of Category by the American Distilling Institute's Annual Judging of Craft Spirits.
It's also received awards at competitions in Denver, San Francisco, San Diego and Los Angeles.
