D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc. last week began shipping Yuengling IPL (India Pale Lager), a bottom-fermented riff on the classic IPA style.

Yuengling IPL is a well-balanced lager with an unexpected mix of hops. This is not just a hopped up lager, but a truly unique brew with a crisp, clean character, bursting with complex hop notes.
“With its hop-forward style, Yuengling IPL is redefining the limits of what a lager can be,” says Jennifer Yuengling.

The decision to brew an IPL was based on the popularity of the IPA (India Pale Ale) style and the success of Yuengling’s flagship offerings, Traditional Lager.

"IPL is 60 IBUs which is double that of Lord Chesterfield Ale," says John Callahan, Pennsylvania Brewing Manager. "We also took a lot of time trying over 12 different hop varieties prior to selecting Belma, Bravo, Cascade and Citra hops for this new brew."
