PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In order to share valuable insight about the agency's operations, the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) today announced the release of the 2012-13 Fiscal Year Annual Report.

"Since coming to the Board, I have been committed to being more open and transparent with our business," said Chairman Joseph E. Brion. "The 2012-13 Annual Report is an extension of those efforts as it gives our stakeholders, the citizens of the commonwealth, detailed information regarding the agency's retail and regulatory operations."

The document includes the PLCB's financial reports as well as information on marketing efforts, store operations, supply chain, licensing, alcohol education, consumer affairs and workforce demographics. The report, which represents information from July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013, is posted on the agency's website, www.lcb.state.pa.us.

"While it was widely reported that we made more than $2.2 billion in gross revenue this past fiscal year, many are unsure how that money is allocated," Board Member Robert S. Marcus said. "It is our hope that this report will not only provide important financial data but will also illuminate the fantastic work the employees at the PLCB are doing to operate the agency in the most profitable and efficient manner possible."

Some of the highlights include:

A five-year financial summary of store operations, including personnel costs and revenue
A detailed look at the agency's social-media impact
The impact of bailment on warehouse inventory
A breakdown of the license applications processed and investigations completed
A listing of all retail licenses by municipality
"As discussions continue regarding the future of the Liquor Control Board, it is critically important that we are forthcoming with the information necessary to move forward in the best interest of the commonwealth as a whole," said Chairman Brion.
The PLCB regulates the distribution of beverage alcohol and also operates more than 600 Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores statewide. Taxes and store profits are returned to Pennsylvania's General Fund.
