Spring is the perfect time to enjoy sipping wines.

Wherever we enjoy the first days of spring — sitting at sidewalk cafés, having picnics in the park, spending a day at the beach — it’s also time to enjoy sipping wines. Here are some chillable bubblies, pleasant whites and rosés, an assortment of reds, and a sherry.

Vilarnau Brut Nature Cava Reserva NV ($18). Full, rounded, ripe flavors with a rich and balanced structure.

Buena Vista “La Victoire” Champagne Brut NV ($49). A rare Champagne that was made in France for a Napa Valley winery, La Victoire is full-bodied yet elegant and very satisfying.

Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage 2008 ($55). A Champagne lover’s Champagne with lean but flavorful tangy fruit and a crisp finish — superb.

Ruffino Sparkling Rosé NV ($13). A little sweet, with good cherry and rose-petal flavors and intense bubbles.

Pine Ridge California Chenin Blanc & Viognier 2015 ($12). A good blend of apple fruitiness and lime intensity, making for a refreshing, very good sipping wine.

Chamisal Central Coast “Stainless” Chardonnay 2015 ($15). Slightly tart apple flavors with moderately full body and good finishing acidity.

Barrymore by Carmel Road California Pinot Grigio 2015 ($16).Bright, fresh flavors of citrus and green fruits with good acidity and a touch of creaminess.

David Phinney Locations F 5 French Rosé NV ($17). More fruity than sweet, with hints of clover and honey and good acidity.

Malene Central Coast Rosé 2016 ($23). Fruity but dry, with flavors of dried and ripe apricots.
