Top Technology Entrepreneurs to Pitch Live for Wine Business at Future Wine Expo

12 major technology companies will go head-to-head in a bid to win contracts from the wine industry at new wine/tech futures event

05/04/2019

A new major business event that hopes to bring the best talents and skills from the technology and wine industries together has come up with a novel way of seeing which companies are leading the way.

Future Wine Expo, which is a new, breakthrough trade show that brings together some of the most dynamic and disruptive technology companies with leading players in the global wine industry, is looking to host a TV-Shark Tank-style business competition.

It is inviting technology companies to fight it out for 12 “Future Wine Pitch” opportunities at next year’s Future Wine Expo to be held in Sonoma County between May 12-13, 2020.

The chosen finalists will then get the chance to each present a 10-minute pitch to an audience of senior decision-making business executives from the wine industry.

In that time they will have to present their technology and how it can potentially fix a problem or offer a new solution to the wine industry. But with a twist.

They will also have to share the results of a real-life case study to back up what they are saying and be able to show what happened using their technology with actual data and metrics to back it all up.

If any of the wine business leaders in the audience like what they hear and see they can then go away and look to do business together.

The “Future Wine Pitch” sessions are only open to senior executives with decision buying power who are looking to team up with a potential new technology partner.

Future Wine Expo is the first event of its kind to be held between the wine and technology industries. It has been set up to look at ways in which the technology industry might be able to offer new solutions to a wine industry that is facing increased global competition, smaller margins, and having to face up to the difficulties of climate change and ever more unpredictable global wine harvests.

“This is one of the most exciting events that we’ve ever organized for the wine industry,” said Sid Patel, founder and chief executive of Beverage Trade Network, the organizer of the Future Wine Expo. “For anyone looking to build a technology strategy for their wine business by leveraging cutting-edge technological platforms, this is the place to be in May 2020.”
