Rockstar Spirits adds new flavours to spiced rum ranges

English drinks producer Rockstar Spirits has developed two new flavours for its Two Swallows and Grenade spiced rum ranges – cherry and grapefruit.

The Manchester-based spirits producer has created Grapefruit Grenade, which is available to buy now, while Two Swallows Cherry will launch at the end of August.

The new expressions have been produced following a five-figure loan from GC Business Finance, which has allowed Rockstar Spirits to “ramp up production of its original flavours to help the business deliver on current order volumes”.

Rockstar Spirits previously received a loan of £14,000 (US$17,000) from CG Business Finance to help establish the company in 2018.

According to the firm, its two existing expressions – Pineapple Grenade and Two Swallows – have received “rave reviews” from presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on ITV’s This Morning show.

The original Two Swallows spiced rum and Two Swallows Cherry are bottled at 38% while the Grenade range is available at 65% abv.

Rockstar Spirits’ range has “developed significantly” across Manchester since its launch in October. The producer has benefited from a “strong brand identity” which features an orange strip along the bottleneck of its products.

Two Swallows was recently selected by soft drinks brand Coca-Cola as the official partner for its new Signature Mixers range. The Signature series, which launched earlier this year with four flavours, was created to be paired with premium dark spirits.

“Right now is a very interesting time for spirits – we’ve seen gin reinvigorated by producers looking to please a more discerning audience, which has paid off massively,” said Tom Hurst, owner of Rockstar Spirits.

“Now I believe is the time for rum to undergo the same transition. Our Coca-Cola partnership shows that the appetite for our upmarket rums is growing, and with the help of this latest loan, we’ll be able to make a bigger impact on the growing sector.
