New Alcohol Policy Put in Place For Town Owned Facilities

The Town of Rocky Mountain House now has a Municipal Alcohol Policy in place for Town owned facilities.

29/03/2017

The policy had to be put in place due to the Recreation Board being made aware of some of the concerns when it came to drinking in public facilities through user and public complaints.

Director of Recreation and Community Services for the Town of Rocky Mountain House, Roger Smolnicky says the policy is to ensure that the AGLC regulations are being followed properly.

"We wanted to ensure that the public is aware of these because from a user group they could be liable if they are not being followed, of course the Town needs to have a policy to ensure that it is being followed as well so the Town liability is controlled."

The purpose of this Municipal Alcohol Policy consists of a range or measures designed to prevent alcohol-related problems, and to increase the enjoyment of those who use the Town facilities by aiming to reduce the risk of injury, death, and liability.
