We produce the U.Ks first Charmat method sparkling wine made from the best grapes grown across England. The wine is fruit driven and high quality with good acidity and balance. The wine is at a competitve price and offers choice and diversity in a developing wine producing region dominated by a single style of wine. Our wine focuses on being easy drinking and enjoyable with a memorable brand that breaks the status quo and offers diversity for consumers. We focus on quailty and making sure our wine is as good as it can possibly be. The Charmat method is most commonly associated with Prosecco production and offers a far more fruit driven style of sparkling in contrast to the heavier more acidic and yeasty traditional method. We are a young company that is growing fast with our production increasing each year. We are open to all markets and keen to look at having the wine begin being exported in 2019. Divergent Drinks was setup in 2016 to realise our first dream – to be the first company to produce a Charmat method sparkling wine in England. The decision to embark on this project was met with no small degree of negativity within the English wine industry due to concerns our new approach would lead to a deterioration in the perception of quality within the sector. Quality is our first and foremost concern and we will never produce a product which does not have at it’s heart a great experience for the consumer.

In 2016 we finally decided to make our long‐term dream of making wine into a reality. We had been excited about the English wine industry for a long time and had watched the successes of the many talented individuals and businesses who were putting the quality of English wine firmly on the world map. So we decided to make wine, but what wine should we make, the biggest success story was English sparkling wine which is rivalling and surpassing the most famous of the top French Champagne brands so that seemed a good starting point.
We offer the first sparkling wine to be produced in the UK using Charmat method and the best grapes selected from across England. The wine is fresh and fruity with a well balanced palate and soft acidity. We aim to offer choice to consumers in a growing segment of the market. Our flagship blend is a white sparkling and we intend to extend the range with a rose to be released mid 2019.
