  • Khikhvi is one of the most aromatic white grape varieties from the Kakhetian region, often used for creating various wine styles. Our vineyards are located in Gulgula village. Khikhvi was fermented in Qvevri and matured for two months with full skin contact and then wine getting aged in Qvevri for six months. The fully amber-coloured wine is rich with captivating aromas such as quince, dried apple, sultana, hay, and sweet tobacco. Soft tannins and a well-balanced structure make this wine even more delicious, silky, and gastronomic. Secondary aromas repeat on the palate, leading to a soft, lingering finish.

Its WINEMAKER is Georgian famous George (Gogi) Dakishvil, who has been working in the field of viticulture and winemaking for about twenty years. First touch point with grapes and wine was in the age of 5-6, when his grandfather allowed him to squeeze the grapes in satsnakheli. Gogi is the graduate of faculty of enology at Lomonosov food industry Institute of Odessa, Ukraine. After graduation, Gogi studied chemistry and biology with particular enthusiasm to become a winemaker. Now he is a pioneer of the revival of the Qvevri wine technology in Georgia. 20 QVEVRI & 270 TONES OF CLASSIC WINE ​ Pirveli Winery takes pride in its vast 32-hectare family-owned land. Pirveli Winery is committed to eco-friendly practices. They limit their wine production to 4-5 tonnes per hectare, prioritizing quality over quantity. This way, every vine gets the attention it needs, resulting in rich flavors. The competition between vines adds complexity, and careful vineyard management ensures a balanced environment. Their meticulous winemaking process refines the wine, bringing out its unique character.
