FIELD: The Tros de La Serra wine estate is at the foot of Montsant, in the valley between the Serra del Montsant and the Serra de les Gritelles.

PRODUCTION: Limited of 1400 bottles of 75 CL
BOTTLE TYPE: Bordalesa of 75 CL
VARIETIES: Macabeo - Mono-varietal
GRADUATION: 14% vol.
PREPARATION: Harvested by hand in early October. Vinification with their skins. Alcoholic fermentation with local yeasts for 24 days at 17ºC. Partial aging for 10 months in 225 liter barrels with their lees. No sulfites.
TASTING NOTES: Amber and bright color. Aromas of sweet white flower, honey and elderberry. It opens up and expresses itself better over time. The notes of white fruit are enriched with an autumn speech that reminds us of dead leaves, acorns, bark and candied apple. Memories of fresh honey and subtle mineral notes. In the mouth, it has an unctuous and wide attack. The mouthfeel leaves a creamy trail of butter from the lees. Aging for 10 months in barrels leaves vanilla aromas with long, gentle tannins. The final bond is smooth with a perfect balance between acidity and tannins. A wine made by palates looking for a white wine that can be tasted alone or in combination with a wide range of meals, including meat, vegetables and fish. Wine from old Macabeo vineyards, brisat, natural, warm with minerality and aged in the northern part of the Priorat.

About this company
We are a winery that starts its activity in the land and vines to bring the best of the territory to your glass. Wine has been made in the Priorat long before the Roman times. We continue the tradition of our ancestors. The balance between territory, grapes and microorganisms gives us an excellent product. Les Gritelles brings water, minerals and microorganisms to the ecosystem of Montsant. We handcraft wine, allowing the grapes to express their own yeast.
We are a small winery in the Priorat region in Spain with DO Montsant. We produce Grenache, Carignan and Macabeo wines (between 500 and 4000 bottles per vintage and type of wine (total of approximately 10,000 bottles per year). We would like to explore the distribution of our wines.
We want to show the individuality of the best vineyards and regions of the Northeast of Montsant, in the Priorat region. We select the vineyards that best express the characteristics of the climate and the diversity of the terrain (clay, limestone, slate (rock) and pebbles). We gently orient the grapes towards the wine, trying to express the personality, complexity and singularity of each vineyard and vintage.
