We’re one week into December and port will be the tipple of choice for many. Enter The Fladgate Partnership and its Taylor’s 50yo Single Harvest Tawny 1968, the fifth release in its limited edition series.

Deep chestnut in colour, the opulent release is said to be plum-pudding on the nose, with a warm base note of raisin and toffee which mingle with a rich vanilla oakiness.

‘A 50th birthday or anniversary is a landmark occasion,’ Taylor’s managing director, Adrian Bridge, said. ‘Taylor’s Single Harvest ports offer a unique opportunity to celebrate with an extraordinary 50yo wine in perfect condition.’

Presented in a classic frosted bottle, gift boxed in a luxury wooden case, Taylor’s Single Harvest Port 1968 will be the perfect, rather dear, stocking filler.

In January, Taylor’s unveiled its 1967 Single Harvest Port.
