Slim Wine founder Paul Anthony Gidley is bringing Pink Prosecco DOC Rosé to the UK on-trade.

Produced at a Treviso winery, owned by the vice president of the Prosecco Council, Pink Prosecco uses a blend of Glera and Pinot Noir grapes. The latter gives the liquid its pink hue.

With a “fruitier nose” than standard prosecco, it offers “hints of summer fruits such as strawberry and blackberry” and has a “light, semi-sweet finish”.

According to its makers, the drink is ideal for small groups to share with snacks and it can be paired with aperitivo foods and starters such as smoked salmon and prawn dishes.

Paul Anthony Gidley, CEO of Pink Prosecco, said: “Since the Prosecco Council in Italy gave the go-ahead for Prosecco DOC Rosé, we’ve been working hard behind the scenes to get the brand, bottle and bubbles just right.

“The result is a versatile, stylish and appealing product, which we’re certain will be the next big trend among wine fans.

“Brits are the biggest consumers of Prosecco behind its native Italy and the popular fizz has become as much a part of the culture as a pint of beer.
