Local Winery to Release 2015 Vintage For Charity

Talley Vineyards will release the 2015 Mano Tinta wine in support of The Fund for Vineyard and Farm Workers

23/04/2018

Talley Vineyards will release the 2015 vintage of their charity wine, Mano Tinta, on April 22, 2018. Meaning “Red Hand” in Spanish, the name Mano Tinta was chosen to signify the pride and commitment of farm workers to their craft.

All of the grapes, materials, and services used to make Mano Tinta are donated by the community. Sinor LaValle Vineyards, Ranchita Canyon Vineyards, Wolff Vineyards, Laetitia Vineyard & Winery, and Talley Vineyards are only a partial list of wineries and vineyards who have contributed over the years.

The artwork on the label is selected through an annual revolving artist competition. Each year, local artists of all ages and experience are encouraged to submit their artistic interpretation of “Mano Tinta.” The vibrant and creative labels from the past vintages have featured a variety of colorful images, inspired by vineyards, farm workers and the bounty of the harvest.

According to Talley Vineyards owner Brian Talley, “The idea for the art contest dates back to the first label, which was designed by Jose Juan Rico, the son of two of our employees, who lived near Talley Vineyards at that time. The artwork was so personal and powerful, it inspired the idea of an art contest to tap into the energy and inspiration of our local community year after year.”
