Bledsoe-Mcdaniels Winery Announces Oct. 14 Limited Allocation of Willamette Valley Pinot Noir and Walla Walla Valley Syrah

Inaugural release of ultra-premium wines from Drew Bledsoe and Josh McDaniels compare and contrast the popular Burgundian and Rhône varietals

05/10/2020

(WALLA WALLA, Wash.) — Bledsoe-McDaniels Winery, a unique collaboration between proprietors Drew Bledsoe and Josh McDaniels focused on comparing and contrasting the popular Burgundian and Rhone varietals of Pinot Noir and Syrah, has announced the Oct. 14 limited allocation of the winery’s first release including a 2018 Willamette Valley Ribbon Ridge Pinot Noir and 2018 Walla Walla Valley Lefore Vineyard Syrah.

With only 187 and 164 cases produced respectively, the wines will initially be allocated to Doubleback Winery’s VIP customers and those who have signed up for the Bledsoe-McDaniels list at BledsoeMcDaniels.com.

“It’s no secret that while our focus at Doubleback has been on producing ultra-premium Walla Walla Valley cabs from day one, we have a longstanding love affair with Willamette Valley Pinot Noir,” said Josh McDaniels, CEO & director of winemaking for Bledsoe Wine Estates. “Bledsoe-McDaniels is an expression of both, and our first release takes customers on a journey that explores the obvious differences of varietal and site terroir while indulging in the lesser-known similarities of the two grapes.”

The 2018 Bledsoe-McDaniels Pinot Noir was sourced from the Ridgecrest and Wind Ridge vineyards in the Willamette Valley’s Ribbon Ridge AVA, while the 2018 Bledsoe- McDaniels Syrah was sourced from the winery’s Lefore Estate Vineyard in The Rocks District of Milton-Freewater, a sub-AVA of the Walla Walla Valley AVA. Both wines were produced in the same state-of-the-art facility in Walla Walla that is home to Doubleback and Bledsoe Family Winery. And like Doubleback, the Bledsoe-McDaniels wines are all about small production and high-quality creations.
