Blazers’ McCollum uncorks his own wine brand
Portland Trail Blazer CJ McCollum starts out his own wine brand.
According to the bizjournals
McCollum credited his fiancée, Elise, with introducing him to wine in his early 20s (he’s now 28; the “91” in the brand name refers to his birth year).
A Blazer since coming out of college in 2013, McCollum has made the local wine country and its hallmark grape his study.
“I’ve had the opportunity to immerse myself in the Willamette Valley, and pinot noir has earned a special place in my heart,” he said in the release.
Wine is an intensely brand-driven industry — industry giant E. & J. Gallo says it has more than 90.
